How do I let my interest in a girl show in a non-impulsive way?

I met this girl in my college cl and she seems to share an interest in books and other activities.We have a common taste in F.Scott Fitzgerald,J.D Salinger and Shakespeare.I can tell she has an intellectual mind and above all,she is also an artist and has a creative mind.With these common interests,its no wonder how she got my attention.She wanted to know if I could let her borrow my favorite book and in return,she lets me borrow hers.Is there anyway that I can show that I'm interested in her with this event?Can draw a bookmark with a small note saying something in the back?Or is that impulsive?Any other ideas?
