Ever been caught between two feuding neighbors? How did you deal with it??

My 2 neighbors, one we share property with (a Townhouse) and one across the street we all hung out together until the neighbor across the street "slept" with the other neighbors husband. Instead of dealing with it alone, they have dragged my family into the middle, basically making us choose sides. We have asked to stay out of it, b/c we used to like both parties. It has escalated into a lot of bull and charges were brought up against one of the neighbors. I told both parties off today, saying we don't even want to be neighborly anymore and they have to deal with their private life without involving us. WE DON"T CARE! Has anyone else ever had this problem?? I feel liberated that after 1 1/2 years of this, we're not taking it anymore being everyone's escape goat. I don't need "friends" like this in my life. We all have our own private issues to deal with.....thanks.
